Mission

We believe that public space is a common good, not only physically, but also culturally and socially. We must all therefore take good care of it. Public space is where human needs, values and visions, as well as memories are reflected. Users share various perceptions and assessments of public space. Our aim is to work towards improving public spaces (and spaces in general) by – studying different users’ needs and improving their quality of life – initiating and supporting activities undertaken by local communities – working with local authorities and other stakeholders that share the same goal of creating user-friendly spaces

What we do

We provide information on the relationships between humans and their environment. We do so, by running studies, consulting and conducting workshops. We do our research both in urban and non-urbanized areas, focusing on the users’ environments and their needs and the dynamic processes taking place in those areas, while using diverse methodological approaches. In particular we focus on spatial and social dynamics, local policy, participation and revitalization. We follow sustainable development principles while including in our research all possible stakeholders involved in these processes. We wish to and are willing to work with anyone who shares the same ideas and goals- local communities, NGOs, local and national authorities, commercial institutions as well as academic institutions.
